Pops Fernandez: “I’m very, very happy for Zia”
POPS FERNANDEZ — The singer recently spoke about the wedding of Zia Quizon and her Serbian husband, Alexsa, last July.
Pops was one of the first ones who got sad when she found out that it was all over between her son and Zia. Robin Nievera is Pops Fernandez’s son, while Zia Quizon is the daughter of Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla and late comedian Dolphy.
She admitted her feelings, especially after Zia Quizon got married in Serbia last month, in an interview with ABS-CBN News at the recent media conference of “Four Kings and a Queen”.
“I got sad when I learned hindi na sila ni Robin,” she said. “But of course, they both have their own reasons and I respected that. I also know na magkaibigan pa rin sila.”

Robin and Zia got romantically involved in 2016 after getting constantly teased while working together in the Kapamilya Sunday noontime show “ASAP Natin ‘To”. Their parents approved of their relationship and were also hoping that they would end with each other.
At one time, Martin Nievera even said that Zia is “the right one” for his son but fate had a different plan for the two of them.
Robin and Zia were rumored to have parted ways in early 2020 and Robin left for the United States. Their parents kept mum about the real score between Zia and Robin at that time.
Pops disclosed that Robin and Zia have remained friends after their split.
To recall, Zia and her Serbian partner, Alexsa, tied the knot last July. Zsa Zsa Padilla even flew to the Balkan country in Serbia to attend the wedding of her daughter.
“I’m very, very happy for Zia,” Pops said. “I think Robin is still very much in touch with her. They’ve remained friends. Congratulations, Zia and best wishes.”
The “Four Kings and a Queen” is her concert with The Hitmakers Nonoy Zuñiga, Rey Valera, Hajji Alejandro, and Marco Sison. They will perform at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila on August 26 and 27.
