NANCY BINAY – The Senator released a statement announcing that she is now in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19.
Countries across the globe continue to fight against the spread of COVID-19 as the threats are still present. The World Health Organization (WHO) reiterates that the pandemic is “nowhere near over”.
According to World Health, the pandemic is not over anywhere if it is not over everywhere. The reminders of the international body came amid the easing of restrictions across the globe.
In the Philippines, the alert level system which is the basis for the restrictions to be implemented remains. Most parts of the country including Metro Manila are under Alert Level 1, the loosest measure.
However, a few weeks after the Elections 2022, the COVID cases in the country have increased. Also, several known personalities contracted the disease.
Another senator recently tested positive for COVID-19. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Nancy Binay released a statement announcing that she is currently in isolation due to COVID-19.
In her statement, Sen. Nancy Binay stated that she tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday “after more than 2 years of consciously observing all protocols to avoid the virus”. The lady Senator is asking for prayers for her and her colleagues in the Senate who also tested positive for the virus citing that prayer is the first line of defense.
Aside from Sen. Binay, senators Alan Peter Cayetano, JV Ejercito, Imee Marcos, Grace Poe, and Cynthia Villar also tested positive for COVID. They all went through isolation.
