Here’s the response of a Catholic priest to the challenge of Darryl Yap on making Catholic schools free
FATHER BENNY “NONGNONG” TUAZON – The Catholic priest took to social media wherein he answered the challenge of director Darryl Yap to make Catholic schools free.
Yap is considered one of the most popular directors in the country today.
He is behind the hit movies and independent films such as Jowable, Tililing and to name a few.
He’s also one of the staunch supporters of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., and Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio.
His latest project is the controversial film, Maid in Malacañang, a movie about the last 72 hours of the Marcos family in the Palace.
The movie stars Cesar Montano as former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., Diego Loyzaga as President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Cristine Reyes as Senator Imee Marcos, and Ruffa Gutierrez as Imelda Romualdez Marcos and Ella Cruz as Irene Marcos.
Last August 17, Yap challenged one of the largest religions in the country to match the salaries of their teachers in the private schools they own to teachers in public schools.
On Twitter, Father Tuazon responded to his remarks and suggested that if he wants to make Catholic schools free, he should donate.
“Bakit daw hindi gawing libre ang Catholic schools? Hmmm. Patulan natin. Gusto mong libre ang Catholic schools? Magdonate ka. If not, let part of the taxes paid to government be given as support to Catholic schools,” Father Tuazon said.
Darryl Yap responded: “Luh. Father, di na nagbabayad ng tax, nag-uutos pa magdonate? Dagdag commandment? Moses? Ikaw ba ‘yan?“
The priest clarified that they are also paying taxes.
