SEC has approved the registration of Leni Robredo’s Angat Buhay program
SEC — The Securities and Exchange Commission has approved the registration of former Vice President Leni Robredo’s “Angat Buhay” program as a business entity.
The Angat Buhay Foundation is a non-government organization (NGO) formed by former Vice President Leni Robredo and was officially launched on Friday, July 1, 2022.
At the launch of the said program, the former Vice President said that the corporate name of the said program is “Angat Pinas Inc.” because there’s already a registered “Angat Buhay” entity, but she said that the name of the said program will still be “Angat Buhay”.
Inquirer reported that a non-government organization must be registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a business entity in order for it to be legal.
“Noong nire-register ‘yung Angat Buhay, hindi siya na-approve dahil may naregister nang Angat Buhay na matagal nang matagal nang nakaregister,” Robredo said. “So ang na-approve na pangalan ay Angat Pinas Inc. So ang corporate name natin ay Angat Pinas Inc. but the program will still be called Angat Buhay.”
According to the former Vice President, the approval from SEC came in time for the launching of Angat Buhay Foundation.

Education, health, food security and nutrition, and disaster risk response were among the key advocacy programs of the Angat Buhay Foundation.
For the education side, the former Vice President said that existing community learning hubs will be converted into remedial centers and those centers will focus on teaching math and reading.
The Angat Buhay Foundation was launched in a two-day street and art festival in Quezon City and was meant to continue Robredo’s “Angat Buhay” program which she initiated as Vice President in the past 6 years.
Earlier, Robredo said that visitors may get some of the artworks and memorabilia gifted to her by her supporters during her 2022 presidential run in exchange for any donation of any amount in order to fund the foundation.
