Sara Duterte to Move Vice President’s Office to Mandaluyong

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte To Have OVP in Mandaluyong

SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President and Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary decided to move the Office of the Vice President (OVP) to Mandaluyong.

The winning candidates during the Elections 2022 have taken their oath and assumed office. Former Davao City Mayor and now-Vice Pres. Sara Duterte had a landslide victory during the election for the second-highest position in the government.

Duterte took her oath in Davao City. Both of her parents, then-outgoing Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Elizabeth Zimmerman, were present during her oathtaking. The 77-year-old former Chief Executive did not campaign for a presidential candidate in the last election and only campaigned for her daughter and the candidates supported by his political party.

President Bongbong Marcos, the running-mate of the former Davao City Mayor, offered Duterte to head the Department of Education. The Vice President accepted the role to also be the DepEd Secretary at the same time.

It has been a little more than a week now since DepEd Secretary and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte assumed office. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Vice President has decided to transfer the OVP to Mandaluyong.

Supposedly, the OVP is in the Quezon City Reception House. According to Duterte’s spokesman, Attorney Reynold Munsayac, the new office which will be in Mandaluyong will accommodate all the co-term, permanent, and casual employees of the Office of the Vice President. He stressed that it will boost the “efficiency, economy, and result in streamlined processes” because all of the people working in the OVP are within the same area.

Furthermore, the OVP is hoping that their new address will be more accessible to the people as it is near the major transportation roads. Meanwhile, the Office expressed its gratitude to Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte for the warm accommodation when they were initially set to transfer to QCRH.
