PNPA is a public safety school whose graduates are assigned as officers of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Established on August 26, 1977, by the virtue of Section 19, PD 1184, the academy was tasked to provide tertiary level education to Filipinos aspiring to be officers in the three bureaus of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) is conducting an investigation after one of their new cadets was found missing during their “reveille” at Camp Castañeda in Barangay Tartaria, Silang Cavite, Saturday afternoon.

The said cadet, a member of the Bachelor of Science in Public Safety (BSPS) 2026, went missing when the cadets were counted in their formation around 1:00 p.m.

In the report of Police Master Sgt. Johnny Dumangeng of the Silang Police Station, the missing cadet was last seen around 2:00 am on Saturday when he entered the comfort room (CR) inside Camp Castaneda, Barangay Tartaria, Silang, Cavite.

But before the “disappearance” of the cadet, he allegedly submitted his resignation letter assisted by his squad leader.

According to information from Dumangeng, his parents allegedly opposed the cadet’s plan to resign, believing that this was the reason why the victim was missing.
