“Iisa-isahin na raw kami,” says mother of Dr. Chao-Tiao Yumol, the Ateneo shooting suspect
MUYKIM YUMOL – The mother of Dr. Chao-Tiao Yumol, the suspect in the Ateneo de Manila University shooting incident, sought help from President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos following the killing of her husband.
It was on Sunday, July 24 when a shooting incident took place at Ateneo de Manila University.
Three persons were killed including former Lamitan City Mayor Rosita “Rose” Furigay, her aide Victor George Capistrano, and Jeneven Bandiala, a security guard of the university.
The former mayor was supposed to attend the graduation of her daughter Hannah from law school when Dr. Yumol went on a killing spree. Hannah was also wounded in the incident.
The police arrested the suspect, identified as Dr. Chao Tiao Yumol, 38, a resident of Lamitan City. Recovered from the scene was a caliber.45 pistol with a silencer. He was arrested on the same day of the shooting. A personal grudge was cited as the motive behind the killing.
On Friday, Rolando Yumol, the father of Dr. Yumol, was shot dead in front of his house in Barangay Rizal in Lamitan City, Basilan.
Meanwhile, Muykim Yumol, the mother of the Ateneo gunman, sought the help of President Bongbong Marcos following the incident.
According to Mrs. Yumol, they received a message that they will be all get killed because of what the doctor did.
“Mayroon pong bali-balita na pinag-iingat na ho kami, na iisa-isahin na raw kami,” she said in an interview with GMA News.
“Sana matulungan kami ni Presidente ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, nasa panganib na ang buhay namin. President, maawa po kayo sa amin,” she added.

Mrs. Yumol added that even their staff were afraid of their lives because of what happened to the elder Yumol.
The lawyer of Furigay family denied that they are behind the killing of Rolando Yumol.
