Jesus Fuentes – From chicharon vendor to college graduate
JESUS FUENTES – A chicharon vendor continues to inspire many with his story after finishing his college degree, Bachelor of Elementary Education.
“Poverty is not a hindrance to success.”
It is an old proverb that tells us that one can achieve his/her dreams in life no matter what; whether being poor or not coming from a well-off family or having a low economic status.
Indeed, poverty did not hinder a certain Jesus Fuentes to accomplish the first step in achieving his dreams (to graduate from college).
Fuentes is proud to share that after all he had gone through, he finished his college degree.
Recently, he went to the social networking site, Facebook wherein he thanked all the people who supported him throughout his four years in college.
Fuentes started his post by citing a Bible verse from Philippians 4:13 that says: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.
He then thanked God as well as his family for supporting him.
He also thanked his avid chicharon customers. Jesus sells chicharon on board his bicycle at the same time while studying in college.
Jesus Fuentes expressed his gratitude to his college classmates for helping him in his reporting and demo.
He also thanked his teachers, because of them, he was able to finish his dream course.
Fuentes finished a Bachelor of Elementary Education at Talisay City College.
His post had gone viral, garnering reactions from netizens.
