Richard has opened up about not having another child in an interview on Thursday’s episode of “Updated with Nelson Canlas”. According to him, he and Lucy tried to have another child “so many times”, but he thinks they’re unfortunate to have another one.

We tried. We tried so many times. Siguro we’re not fortunate lang to have another one,” he shared. “Parang siguro sinabi ng Diyos na, ‘tama na ’yan isa na muna, isa na lang, pagtiyagaan niyo na si Juliana.’

When asked in press events and interviews, the couple would emphasize that having another baby would happen if God willed it and that the two were more than happy and contented with their small family.

Richard and Lucy first met in Lake Caliraya during a TV commercial shoot for a shampoo brand in 1993 and then tied the knot in 1998. The two have one daughter together named Juliana.

Based on a report on GMA News Online, rumors across the local showbiz scene had spread that the actress-politician had cut-out pictures of Richard in her old bedroom in Ormoc, Leyte.

Richard confirmed this urban legend in an interview with Nelson Canlas, saying “Totoo. Totoo talaga.

According to him, Lucy showed him her old bedroom when a typhoon devastated Ormoc and the Torres family home back in 1991, but then she suddenly got shy when the two were about to enter the room.

He then asked her what was happening, and so she went ahead to open the cabinet.

Richard also said that Lucy had always prayed for a husband. He also expressed that the reasons why they were brought together were because of Lucy’s prayers.

Pinagdasal niya talaga ko sa Panginoon. Siguro that was what brought me here to Ormoc City, that was what brought me to Lucy, ‘yong mga dasal niya.” he shared.
