President Duterte’s weekly public briefing started in 2020 in order to disseminate information and guidelines on the government’s COVID-19 pandemic response.

This includes progress on the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines as well as presentations by members of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases or IATF.

The weekly public briefings are recorded earlier in the day and are aired by Malacañang late at night. On Monday, the IATF members wore white T-shirts printed with a photo of President Duterte and the words “Salamat PRRD”.

President Duterte said in his “Talk to the People” public briefing aired on Monday night that this week’s public briefing may be the last.

So I would just like to make a parting message to the Filipino people. I — sabi ko, maybe this will be the last of the programs na we adopted to improve the communication between the people and government,” the President said.

Meanwhile, President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos said in his latest vlog that he would continue vlogging despite his busy schedule as the country’s Chief Executive as this would allow him to give updates to Filipinos on his latest activities.

According to him, vlogging will serve as a bridge between the Filipino people and his administration.

The incoming President also expressed gratitude to his supporters who keep visiting his official social media accounts such as Youtube, Tiktok, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
