A hanging bridge connecting a sitio and barangay in Oriental Mindoro snapped
ORIENTAL MINDORO – An old hanging bridge in Sitio Tabuk, Barangay Poblacion in Bulalacao, collapsed injuring a priest and children on their way to a baptism on June 27.
A bridge is a structure built to span a physical obstacle without blocking the way underneath.
It is constructed for the purpose of providing passage over the obstacle, which is usually something that is otherwise difficult or impossible to cross.
There are seven (7) types of bridges; Arch Bridge, Beam Bridge, Cantilever Bridge, Suspension Bridge, Cable-Stayed Bridge, Tied-Arch Bridge, and Truss Bridge.
Among the most common bridges that can be found in the Philippines is a Hanging Bridge.
They are originally built to facilitate the travel of the locals between two barangays.
Apparently, an old hanging bridge connecting Sitio Tabuk and Barangay Poblacion in Oriental Mindoro collapsed on June 27 at around 8 am.

In a social media post, the Bulalacao Information Office (BIO) said: “Biglang naputol ang kable na pinagtatalian ng tulay na siyang dahilan kung bakit tumagilid ito.”
According to BIO, it was in 2019 when the hanging bridge was damaged after being battered by Typhoon Ursula.
