During the May 2012 Elections, the INC also supported the vice-presidential bid of presidential daughter and outgoing Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. She is the vice president-elect and her inauguration is set to take place in her hometown on Sunday.

Reportedly, the 77-year-old President is one of those who will be attending the said inauguration. During the election campaign period, the President did not endorse a candidate for the presidency. He only campaigned for his daughter, the senators backed by his political party, and some local government officials.
