Here’s the life story of Fanny Serrano
FANNY SERRANO – The life story of the late celebrity makeup artist and stylist is full of colors.
When his father left them, he took on the responsibility to support his family.
In an interview via “Tunay na Buhay” in 2016, Fanny shared he knew as a child that he was gay.
“Maski nung maliit pa ako nararamdaman ko na na iba. Makipaglaro man ako sa mga lalaki noong araw, siguro natatandaan ito ng mga kalaro ko, cowboy-indian, ako yung kinikidnap,” he shared.
Fanny also remembers how some of his relatives blamed his “kabaklaan” for the hardships they went through in life.
However, Fanny worked hard to support his family. He entered various jobs such as selling school supplies until he became a “boy” or “utusan” at a parlor.
Fanny continued to work hard until the big break in his life came when he was left in the parlor while the senior hairdresser and makeup artists were out of town.
“Ako natira, pinagbantay ako ng parlor. May dumating na costumer na kailangang gawin dahil mayroon siyang importanteng lakad. That’s it,” he said.
“Sabi ko, ako na magma-make up sa’yo. Ayaw pa kasi utus-utusan lang ako. [Pero] sabi sige na nga try kita. Di na-try ko, aba nung bumalik, ako na ang hinahanap,” he added.
Fanny is one of the most recognized and respected makeup artists and stylists in the country.
He has also built his own salon and established makeup brand Fanny Serrano cosmetics, personal care line, Fanny Serrano HairCare, and Fanny Serrano couture.
Fanny passed away on Tuesday night at his home while sleeping. He had a stroke in September 2016 and in 2021.
