Vice Pres. Leni Robredo Speaks on Plans for the Benefit, Protection of Employees in PH
ROBREDO – The Vice President vowed to increase the minimum wage of workers and push for the Security of Tenure Law if she wins president in the May 2022 Elections.
The Filipinos are currently a week away from the next local and national polls. The elections which are set to take place on May 9, 2022 include the election for president, vice president, and members of the Senate.
For the presidency, there are 10 names that remain on the official ballot according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec). One of the candidates is Vice Pres. Leni Robredo who is running as an independent bet in the upcoming election.
The Vice President tapped Senator Kiko Pangilinan, the vice-presidential bet of the Liberal Party, as her running-mate in the upcoming poll. Thousands of people are attending the Leni-Kiko Campaign Rally in different cities and provinces.
Furthermore, a lot of activities related to the upcoming election are done by the supporters of the Vice President and the Senator to show support for the tandem. They do house-to-house campaigns and several celebrities even joined the H2H campaigns.
During the recent celebration of the Labor Day, the supporters of the tandem held a march they tagged “Mayo Uno People’s Rally with Leni-Kiko”. The Vice President and the Senator joined the event.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, speaking to her supporters, Vice Pres. Leni Robredo promised to increase the minimum wage of workers if she wins the May 2022 Presidential Election. She also vowed to push for the Security of Tenure Law for the protection of the workers.
According to the report, the Vice President also promised to push for anti-discrimination in the workplace based on age. She stressed that the policies of the government must come from those who are greatly affected – the ordinary Filipinos.
The supporters promised to deliver over 1 million votes for the Vice President. The Team Leni-Kiko is on double-time as the campaign period is about to end.
