Here’s the reason why Ariel Rivera accepted the lead role in ‘The Fake Life’ after acting hiatus
ARIEL RIVERA – The singer-actor revealed the reason why he accepted the lead role in upcoming drama series after acting hiatus.
Rivera is a singer-songwriter, actor, and Aliw award-winning artist.
He is dubbed as “Kilabot ng Kolehiyala”, a title formerly bestowed upon Hajji Alejandro.
Before his singing talent was accidentally discovered while he was on holiday in the Philippines, he was an undergraduate, studying to be an architect in Canada.
It was in the year 1992 when he first tried acting bagging a role in the film Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal that earned him a Best Supporting Actor award in the 1992 Metro Manila Film Festival.
Ariel Rivera is married to actress Gelli de Belen and they have two sons named Joaquín Andrés and Julio Alessandro.
He last appeared on television via the noontime show, Lunch Out Loud and digital series, Unloving U.
After more than a year of showbiz break, he decided to return to acting via GMA’s upcoming drama series “The Fake Life.”
During the mediacon of the series, he explained why he accepted the lead role after acting hiatus.
“I thought it was time,” he said. “The two years, I was not acting, I was doing a lot of concerts. So I thought I wanted to venture [into acting] again.”
In the series, Ariel Rivera portrays the role of Onats. It also stars Beauty Gonzalez and Sid Lucero.
The Fake Life which is directed by Adolf Alix Jr. is set to premiere on June 6, 2022 on the network’s Afternoon Prime line up.
