PSG spokesperson Major Zeerah Blanche Lucrecia said in a statement that the President invited Capt. Joan Don Napay, Lt. April Bayabao, and PSSg Byron Angelo Bacud at the Malago Clubhouse in Malacañang last April 21 for a photo opportunity and to personally congratulate them.

Napay is assigned at PSG Station Hospital, Bayabo is from the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics, and Bacud is from the Presidential Police Security Force Unit (PPSFU).

The three were presented to the President by PSG Commander BGen Randolph Cabangbang.

Capt. Napay said that the President shared his personal experiences as a lawyer and prosecutor when he’s still in practice. Likewise, the President “recommended reading more books on trial techniques” and urged the new lawyers to “engage in the practice, whether in the AFP or private”.

When asked if she would practice law, Napay said that she planned to spend more time with the government first. On the other hand, Bacud said that he would stay in the Philippine National Police and may leave the PSG in order to provide legal service to the PNP and his fellow police officers.

For Bayabao, she said that she would continue serving the people through the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for now but keeping her doors open to having her private practice.

This is just the beginning, and there is still a lot to learn. So hopefully, while in the AFP, I can practice the profession,” Bayabao said. “As to private practice, maybe in the future. I am open to any kind of practice of law. Anyway, there is only one goal, to promote justice and protect the rights of people.

The PSG made this statement after the President personally met three PSG members who passed the 2020-2021 Bar exams on April 12.
