Here’s the reason why Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu gained weight a few months after she won the pageant
HARNAAZ SANDHU – The Miss Universe 2021 has broken her silence after being criticized for her weight gain.
The reigning M.U. queen from India is lucky that former U.S. President Donald Trump was not the owner of the Miss Universe Organization when she won.
Harnaaz did not experience what happened to Alicia Machado of Venezuela after winning the pageant in 1996.
She was body-shamed by Trump, calling her “Miss Piggy” when she gained weight a few months after she was crowned as Miss Universe.
It became more traumatic for Alicia when Trump invited members of the news media to do a coverage of her exercise.
One of the lines she did not forget that Trump said is when he told the reporters: “This is somebody who likes to eat.”
According to Alicia, she suffered from eating disorders called bulimia and anorexia, as well as psychological trauma.
Like Alicia, Harnaaz also gain weight a few months after she won as Miss Universe in Eilat, Israel last December 13, 2021.
Many noticed the changes in her size.
In a recent interview, she admitted that she has Celiac disease, an immune disorder that is the result of consuming foods with high gluten content.
“I’m one of those individuals who was first bullied that ‘she’s too skinny’ and now they bully me saying ‘she’s fat,” she said.
“Nobody knows about my Celiac disease. That I can’t eat wheat flour and many other things,” she added.
Despite the criticisms of netizens about her body, Harnaaz is lucky because she is still being supported by the Miss Universe Organization.
