Basketball tournament to “rambol”
PAMPANGA – A basketball tournament in the Guagua town of the said province ended in a “rambol” or fighting.
The summer season is here. During this season, different places in the country organize basketball tournaments.
Basketball tournaments during this season are usually organized by the barangays.
The aim is to promote sportsmanship and at the same time showcase the skills of players who love to play basketball.
However, there are instances in a basketball league wherein some players end up in a heated argument or brawl.
That’s what actually happened at a basketball tournament in Guagua, a town in Pampanga.
In the middle of the game, not only an altercation took place but also the throwing of punches.

The “rambol” began when the audience coming from the other barangay started to tease one of the players of the competing team.
Then, members of the respective teams became physical while playing the game.
The sport ends up in an altercation at the same time throwing punches.
The fight was pacified for a short time until one of the audience punched a player and it triggered anew another fight scene among the audience and basketball players.
Eventually, the game was stopped. The barangay captain was the one who decided to stop the basketball tournament after telling the coaches that they cannot continue the game.
Meanwhile, the barangay clarified that they are not the ones who organized the basketball tournament wherein an altercation took place.
