“Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas” by Salvador Panelo?
SALVADOR PANELO – The senatorial candidate and former presidential spokesperson is open to make his own version of “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas” popularized by Sharon Cuneta.
In an interview with News5, Panelo said that he always sang the song because according to him, it is one of his favorite songs.
He believes that if Sharon Cuneta knew that he was singing the song as a tribute to his late son named Carlo who had Down Syndrome, she would have understood.
He noted that he asked permission from Viva Records before singing the classic song.
“Palagi kong kinakanta ang “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas”. Ako ay may permiso sa Viva Records. Pangalawa, kaya ko kinakanta ‘yun para parangalan ang anak ko. Naalala ko siya evertime I sing it and also to pay homage to Sharon [Cuneta] and Willy Cruz sila ‘yung kumanta niyan,” he said.
Because he’s continuously singing the song despite criticism from the Megastar, he might record his own version of the song.
Despite being criticized by the award-winning singer and actress, he’s thankful because the issue opened discussion for people with special needs.
Sharon Cuneta has yet to comment on Panelo’s plan to record his verion of “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas.”
To recall, Cuneta criticized Panelo for singing the said song during his campaign trail.
“Nanang ko pls lang nakakahiya naman samin ni Willy Cruz! You are not allowed to use our song! Don’t mess with a classic,” she said in her now-deleted post.
“I allow its use only for Leni-Kiko! LOL. Utang na loob baka bumangon si Willy, nakakahiya naman samin! Kinilabutan ako in a bad way!” she added.
