John Lloyd Cruz is set to return to the big screen and he’s doing it with Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
JOHN LLOYD CRUZ — The Kapuso actor is set to mark his movie comeback and he’s doing it with Kapuso actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
In a Tuesday report on GMA Network’s “24 Oras”, Jasmine said in a press conference that their movie was expected to come in the “next coming months”.
John Lloyd shared that the project has been planned for a long time and he hopes that it will continue this year. The Kapuso actor also expressed his admiration for Jasmine’s skills as an actress.
He also revealed that Jasmine was his personal choice for his leading lady because he’s impressed by her versatility when she guested on “Happy ToGetHer”.
“’Yung role na ginawa niya nung pilot episode namin, I think mahirap ’yon. Hindi lahat yata magagawa ’yon,” John Lloyd said. “Ang galing na nakita ko ’yon. Kaya niyang mag-transition from seryosong materyal to a sitcom.”
According to Jasmine, she was grateful to the actor for seeing her talent and she’s also looking forward to exploring more of what she can do with their upcoming project.
“In my first 10 years, puro drama. ’Yon talaga yung na-highlight sa’kin pero gusto ko naman mapakita yung range ko na kahit anong genre, kayang pasukin,” Jasmine said.

The Kapuso actor signed a partnership with GMA Network after making his television comeback last June. At that time, Bea Alonzo and other Kapuso stars left a welcome video message for him.
It was followed by the premiere of “Happy ToGetHer,” which airs every Sunday.
