Isko Moreno: ” Basta may issuance of warrant”
ISKO MORENO – The presidential candidate and Manila Mayor said he will continue the Oplan Tokhang, a component of President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs.
Moreno will run for the highest government position alongside his running mate Doc Willie Ong.
They will go against the tandem of; Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Senator Manny Pacquiao and Buhay partylist representative, Lito Atienza as well as Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
In an interview on Wednesday, Isko said he will continue the Oplan Tokhang.
Oplan Tokhang is one of the components of the war on drugs by the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.
The operation involves the police visiting the houses of individuals suspected to be involved in the illegal drug trade or as users, to persuade them to stop their activities and submit themselves to authority for potential rehabilitation.
“As long as there is search warrant or warrant of arrest. Under the law, you can do that any time of the day basta may issuance of warrant or warrant of arrest,” he said.
“As I have said, tuloy ang war on drugs tapos kikilalanin natin yung mga batas na umiiral at yun ang ipapatupad natin,” he added.
Isko Moreno whose real name is Francisco Domagoso stressed that the next administration should continue the war against illegal drugs.
Moreover, the Manila mayor said his administration will “go after the source.”
