Man who pretended to be a dentist was arrested in Bacolod
FAKE DENTIST – A 41-year-old man who pretended to be a dentist was arrested in Bacolod City.
It was just last year when a complaint against the suspect who’s pretending to be a dentist was filed.
Earlier, the National Bureau of Investigation-Bacolod conducted an entrapment operation to capture the suspect.
The authorities were able to apprehend the suspect through the help of an NBI operative who professed to be a customer wanting to have dental braces in Barangay 4 of the said city.
According to Atty. Renoir Baldovino, head of the NBI-Bacolod, the suspect has been in operation for years. He added that the suspect doesn’t have a professional license and is also not part of any dentist association.
Baldovino stressed that this type of deception is dangerous for patients. He also asked the public to carefully check especially if the service is cheap so that there will be no regrets later.
Meanwhile, dental paraphernalia was recovered from the suspect.
The suspect is now facing the violation of Republic Act 9484 or the Philippine Dental Act.
The incident is a clear example of being vigilant and critical, especially in dealing with strangers offering their services at cheaper prices since there are services that may result in crucial effects.
For example, undergoing surgical enhancement in places or people not registered in any government entity duly recognized to give permission to people or groups perform as such.
