The presidential candidates have started visiting several areas in the country as the election campaign period has officially started. Last February 8, most of the candidates for president held the kick-off of their campaign at their bailiwick.
PROMDI standard-bearer and incumbent Sen. Manny Pacquiao had his proclamation rally in General Santos City. It gathered his team, family, friends, and supporters.
Before the start of the proclamation rally, his family and friends prayed for him at his residence. He has always been vocal about his pursuit to help more poor Filipinos and to uplift the situation in the Philippines.
Recently, Sen. Manny Pacquiao visited Manila to campaign. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he met with the vendors and vowed to give them free housing and provide access to zero to low-interest loans for them.
The PROMDI standard-bearer took the PNR train in Makati going to Manila. Several vendors who have been the target of clearing operations shared their sentiments to the Senator.
Based on the report, PUP Vendors Association head Mayen Regino claimed that they were forced to vacate the areas where they are selling and if they will not leave, their products are being taken.
Sen. Manny Pacquiao wants to provide loans to the vendors if he wins president as he believes that providing capital for them will not only help provide a source of income for jobless Filipinos but will also boost the economy of the country.
Furthermore, the PROMDI standard-bearer expressed that under his administration, he will not permit clearing operations without a relocation program for the vendors.
