SSS SICKNESS BENEFIT CLAIM – The Social Security System (SSS) opened this benefit offer for members who tested positive for COVID-19.
The holiday season in the Philippines was followed by an upward trend in the daily COVID-19 records. The authorities anticipated the said increase in the cases considering the activities of the people.
In Metro Manila, the cases in several cities climbed prompting the national government to place it under Alert Level 3 until January 15, 2022. The mayors also agreed to temporarily impose limitations on the mobility of the unvaxxed residents.
The government previously held two (2) mass vaccination drives in the pursuit to achieve population protection against the virus. However, many people are still hesitant to get their jabs.
The increase in the COVID-19 cases in the Philippines came along with global concern over the possible spread of the Omicron variant. The said version of the virus that was first logged in South Africa was reported to be “heavily mutated” so several nations boosted their efforts to fight it.
COVID-19 cases may vary depending on the severity. Some are positive but asymptomatic while others experience symptoms and need a more serious medical attention in a hospital or healthcare facility.
Most patients who are asymptomatic or those with mild symptoms do their isolation at home. COVID-19 patients who are under home isolation may apply for the SSS Sickness Benefit claim.
The said SSS benefit offer is open for both COVID-19 patients who were admitted in a hospital and those who are isolated at their homes. You just need to submit medical documents about your sickness.
