Faberco assured that the Philippines will have access to Molnupiravir.
FABERCO — Pharmaceutical company Faberco Life Sciences Inc. assured that the Philippines will have enough supply of oral antiviral drug Molnupiravir.
Faberco said in a statement that the company was committed to addressing the urgent need for the oral antiviral drug and ensuring to allocate enough supply in order to respond to the surging need in the coming days.
The company also said that several hospitals, local government units (LGUs), and other health facilities have been served with Molnupiravir.

To recall, it was reported last October 2021 that Faberco has partnered with RiteMed for the latter to distribute the said drug to medical institutions, treatment sites, and hospitals once compassionate special permits (CSP) were filed with and approved by the country’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The country’s FDA has approved on December 22 the emergency use of the oral antiviral drug under the brand name “Molnarz” for “treatment of mild to moderate” COVID-19 in individuals aged 18 years old and above.
Faberco Life Sciences Inc. was appointed by Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. to distribute the oral antiviral drug in the Philippines.
Globe Telecom, meanwhile, said that Molnupiravir can be purchased via HealthNow app. According to Globe Telecom, its HealthNow app was developed by Globe’s 917Ventures and Ayala Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (AC Health).
The said app provided users access to medical professionals for teleconsultation and medicine orders.
“COVID-19 positive patients interested in molnupiravir may consult with a doctor on the HealthNow app to check eligibility,” Globe Telecom said in a statement.
On Friday, Vice President Leni Robredo assured the public that those infected with COVID-19 can get access to molnupiravir through the OVP’s e-Konsulta program amidst fears that the oral antiviral drug may be in short supply as coronavirus cases reached new record highs.
The Vice President said in a video message that her office’s main programs — the Bayanihan e-Konsulta program and the Swab Cab initiative — were still in full swing.
Robredo also said that qualified patients who needed the oral antiviral drug can message the Bayanihan e-Konsulta page on Facebook and would be referred by the volunteer doctors to the program’s partner hospitals.
