The CIDG was planning to file a hold departure order against “Poblacion Girl”.
CIDG — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group said that it was planning to file a hold departure order against “Poblacion Girl“.
To recall, Gwyneth Chua (known as “Poblacion Girl”) was a returning Filipino from the United States who skipped mandatory quarantine, attended a party in Makati, and later tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
According to a report on GMA Network’s “24 Oras” on Wednesday, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group was preparing to file the hold departure order a day after the CIDG lodged a complaint before the Makati Prosecutor’s Office.
Gwyneth Chua, her parents, her boyfriend, and 5 hotel personnel were cited in the complaint for violation of Republic Act 11332 (Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act).
Also, CIDG Director Police Major General Albert Ferro ordered to file a supplemental complaint against Chua.

The CIDG personnel, meanwhile, were also contacting those who were companions of Chua who attended the party so that they can give a statement on the matter.
“Yung mga kasama po during the dinner nasa quarantine pa po sila, kinocontact po natin para mainterview para magbigay po sila ng statement,” the CIDG said. “Initially, po ang tinitignan natin yung dahil po nahawa sila doon po sa reckless imprudence.”
According to the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ), they’re still waiting for the result of the genome sequencing samples from Chua in order to identify which COVID-19 variant she acquired.
The Department of Tourism (DOT) had suspended the accreditation of Berjaya Makati Hotel and also revoked its permit as a multiple-use hotel for its failure to stop a guest from breaking quarantine rules.
Berjaya Makati Hotel, for its part, came forward and appealed for kindness, saying that it didn’t tolerate violators amidst public concerns on the establishment’s protocols.
