The actress had been shuttling between Manila and Siargao, where she resided for months or weeks at a time. It wasn’t immediately clear whether she’s on the island when “Odette” hit and wreaked havoc there.

She had been sharing information about donation channels and relief drives through her social media pages since Thursday.

Nadine shared last Friday that she had “been frantic all day”, saying that her stress hormone “hasn’t been this high in ages”.

I’ve been frantic all day. My cortisol level hasn’t been this high in ages,” Nadine tweeted. “I can’t even think straight. Please, let’s all help everyone affected by Typhoon Odette.

She also described the airport at Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte as a “war zone” without yet detailing whether she had just arrived or was set to depart as of Friday afternoon.

On Saturday, Surigao del Norte Representative Francisco Jose Matugas II said that almost 99 percent of the population of Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte, including tourists, were affected by typhoon “Odette”

Matugas quoted his father, Surigao del Norte Governor Francisco Matugas, as saying that the island had “total devastation”.

In addition, Matugas said that around 80 percent of municipal buildings were heavily damaged and even the airport terminal was totally damaged as well. However, the hospital suffered only minimal damage.
