Bong Revilla offered the chairmanship of Lakas-CMD to Sara Duterte.
LAKAS-CMD — On Wednesday, Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr offered the chairmanship of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats to Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
Revilla, who was also the current chairman of the party, said in a statement that he had full trust and confidence in Mayor Sara’s leadership and he believed that Mayor Sara will steer the party towards victory next year.
“In full support of Mayor Sara Duterte’s candidacy for vice president, I am offering her my post as chairman of Lakas-CMD,” Revilla said. “I have full trust and confidence in Mayor Sara Duterte’s leadership, I believe that she will steer the party towards victory in 2022.”
After resigning from the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), Mayor Sara joined Lakas-CMD last November 11. Two days later, she also filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for vice president via the substitution route.
On Tuesday, Mayor Sara confirmed that she would run alongside presidential aspirant and former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Meanwhile, the People’s Reform Party (PRP) had announced its support for the candidacy of Mayor Sara Duterte in the 2022 elections.
In Party Resolution No. 1-2021, the PRP said that the party has no official candidate for the vice-presidency nor has the party endorsed nor supported any vice-presidential candidate for the 2022 elections.
President Rodrigo Duterte also endorsed the tandem of Senator Bong Go and Mayor Sara for president and vice president, respectively, during a meeting with lawmakers in Malacañang last Tuesday night.
