Did The Moon Anger The Sun? (Explanation)
SUN AND MOON – Sol and Luna, as many call them, are two lovers, celestial, floating in the vast space – however, one expressed anger toward the other.
Still, the sun loved the moon so much that he died every night to let her breathe. “Tell me the story about how the Sun loved the Moon so much he died every night to let her breathe“.
Many believe the quote originated from “Why The Sun Chases the Moon”. But, there are also a variety of Sun and Moon myths across the globe that may have inspired the quote as well.
According to one iteration of the story, the Sun and the Moon were lovers who had children – the stars. Unfortunately, unlike the sun, the daughter stars were cool and raffish like their mother, the Moon.
Meanwhile, the sons of the Sun were already bright and blazing much like their father. The young stars looked up to the sun and wanted to be like him. So, one day, they gathered together and followed the Sun as he started to light up the sky.
‘Go back!’ ordered the Sun. ‘You may not follow me! There is place for only one Sun in the sky!’
The Sun told his sons to return home to the moon. However, they insisted on following him. Because of this, the son got angry – but, at the same time, he was also afraid.
So, all of the Sun and the Moons children remained at home quietly with their mother. Now, they follow the moon and can be seen lighting up the sky.
Due to this anger, the moon forbade the Sun from playing with their children, which angered him. This was because the moon was scared that the stars would wither and die if they’re too close to the burning heat of the sun.
