Richard Gordon filed his COC for Senate reelection
RICHARD GORDON — The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chairman filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) to seek another term in the Senate.
Running under the Bagumbayan-VNP party, the senator, through his representative, formalized his bid on the last day of filing of certificates of candidacy before the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).
Gordon hinted at his COC filing in a tweet on Friday morning as he encouraged Filipinos to “go forward”.
“We will never rest until there are still many people who are suffering, losing their jobs and livelihood, crying for justice, getting hungry, sick and that their loved ones are dying because our government cannot provide them with more and better opportunities,” Senator Gordon said.
According to the senator, he can’t physically file his COC as he had to take extra precautions for his wife who was immunocompromised.

The senator had been involved in a recent word war with President Rodrigo Duterte, who was irked by the ongoing Senate blue ribbon committee probe on the government’s procurement of allegedly overpriced medical supplies amidst the pandemic.
He admitted last May that he’s thinking about running for president in the 2022 elections.
However, he said in an interview on ANC last October 1 that he had “perished the thought” at that time as he said he remained focused on the Senate hearing.
