Miss World Philippines Organization accepted Ganiel Krishnan’s resignation as 2nd Princess.
On Tuesday, Miss World Philippines Organization released a statement saying that it accepted Ganiel Krishnan’s resignation as 2nd Princess.
MWP national director Arnold Vegafria said in a statement posted on the organization’s Instagram account that Ganiel had decided to focus on her profession as media personnel.
With this, Janelle Lewis of Angeles City, Pampanga will take over Ganiel’s title.
“The Miss World Philippines Organization respects Ganiel Krishnan’s decision to relinquish her title as MWP 2021 2nd Princess to resume and prioritize her career as a journalist. Taking her place is Janelle Lewis who gladly accepted the duties and responsibilities that come with her crown,” the statement read.
The statement came after Ganiel took to social media to announce that she decided to “pursue the dream which will have the greater impact to actually serving my fellow Filipinos” — through broadcasting.

According to her, her priority was to focus on her service to the public as an entertainment reporter and a Kapamilya on ABS-CBN News. She also shared that her contractual obligations with ABS-CBN will not allow her to serve two masters at the same time.
Ganiel thanked MWP Organization for believing in her potential as a beauty queen and also sent her fellow beauty queens good luck for their upcoming competitions.
“I truly am grateful to have joined Miss World Philippines 2021, which also marks my last foray into the world of pageantry. It was one big learning experience for me which, I know, will help me score even greater triumphs in the future,” Ganiel said.
