Chief of Staff of Mayor Isko Moreno Resigns Before Election
MAYOR ISKO MORENO – The Manila City Mayor spoke on the decision of his Chief-of-Staff, Cesar Chavez, to resign from his work.
One of the incumbent politicians who filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for president last filing period set by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is Mayor Isko. Also called as Yorme, he is running for president with celebrity doctor Willie Ong as his running-mate.
The performance of Mayor Isko as the Chief Executive of the capital city undeniably caught attention. Months before the filing period, his name was one of those in the results of surveys for possible presidential candidates next year.
Before securing the mayoralty seat in Manila City, he has ran for a senatorial seat before but lost. The presidential race will surely bring him the biggest field.
However, shortly after he has filed his COC for president, reports that Mayor Isko Moreno’s Chief-of-Staff, Cesar Chavez, resigned from work crossed the surface.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Chavez accepted the work offered to him by Manila Broadcasting Company. He assured that he informed Yorme about it and his plan to accept the offer.
According to Chavez, he is happy to go back to his first love, the radio broadcasting, and he assured the MBC that to stay with it until his retirement age. He has no intention to return to government.
Based on the report, Mayor Isko Moreno expressed that his Chief of Staff is dealing with health issues and his family needs him. The Manila Mayor stressed that he does not like interfering with the family who is the reason why the person works.
Chavez assured that his family is happy with his decision. He expressed his gratitude to Mayor Isko and stressed that there are a lot of good and excellent men in the Manila City Hall.
