Jake Cuenca will be facing charges due to police chase incident according to Mandaluyong Police
JAKE CUENCA – The Kapamilya actor will be facing at least three charges due to the police chase incident in Mandaluyong.
On Saturday night, October 9, Jake- onboard his vehicle, was chased by police officers conducting a buy-bust operation in Mandaluyong after the actor’s car allegedly collided with the vehicle used by police.
Earlier, Eastern Police District (EPD) director Police Brigadier General Matthew Baccay said the actor allegedly did not stop so the police chased him until he reached Shaw Boulevard which is already part of Pasig City.
Baccay confirmed that there was also a stray bullet victim that night due to the incident. He said the police had to disable the vehicle Jake was driving so they fired a gun, causing a stray bullet to hit a Grab driver.
Meanwhile, Jake Cuenca is facing reckless imprudence resulting in damage of property and disobedience to persons in authority filed by Mandaluyong Police.
Aside from the aforementioned charges, the authorities seek to file a case against him with regards to the violation of the anti-drunk and drug driving law.
Bacay claimed in an interview Ka Tunying Taberna and Gerry Baja in their program on DZRH that Jake also violated the anti-drunk and drug driving law.
But the actor could not be charged at the time because when he was caught, the police did not have a breath analyzer or breathalyzer to check how high the alcohol content was in his body.
According to Baccay, Jake was under the influence of alcohol when he was caught and they found an empty bottle of red wine in the actor’s car.
Baccay added that he understood Jake’s initial reaction to not stopping because the police who chased the actor were wearing civilian clothing.
Baccay admitted that the police were wrong to shoot at Jake’s car, but that was the decision of the police because they were conducting a marijuana operation in the area where the actor passed.
Authorities clarified that Jake had nothing to do with the police operation. Jake just seemed to really pass by.
