COMELEC officially released the tentative list of candidates for the 2022 elections.
COMELEC — The Commission on Elections officially released on Friday the tentative list of candidates for the May 2022 national and local elections.
COMELEC Spokesperson James Jimenez said in a tweet that the tentative list of candidates for the upcoming polls was already available on this website.
According to Jimenez, all political aspirants were advised to check that their name was on the list and was correctly spelled.
“The tentative list of candidates for the 2022 National and Local Elections is up on http://comelec.gov.ph. All aspirants are advised to check that their name is on the list and is spelled correctly,” Jimenez said. “You have a limited window within which to submit your requests for corrections.”
Aspirants whose names appear on the tentative list of candidates released by the COMELEC have until November 8 to submit their requests for correction of typographical errors in their listed names.

The tentative list of candidates for national posts contained the following: 97 presidential aspirants, 28 vice-presidential aspirants, and 174 senatorial aspirants.
Also, the poll body released the tentative list of candidates for local posts and candidates for the House of Representatives as well.
On its website, the poll body said that the tentative list of aspirants/candidates for the 2022 elections was based on the initial evaluation of the Certificates of Nomination, Certificates of Candidacy (COC), and Certificates of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA).
Consequently, the poll body said that the contents of the tentative list, particularly the names of the aspirants/candidates, political parties, as well as the name to appear on the ballot were subject to change as a result of any further evaluation and/or resolution of the Commission En Banc in relation thereto.
Last October 17, Jimenez said the poll body was expected to release the official list of candidates for the 2022 elections by December.
