Accompanied by his family, Bongbong personally filed his certificate of candidacy at the Harbor Garden Tent of Sofitel Hotel in Pasay City and bumped into a fellow presidential aspirant Senator Panfilo Lacson.

I filed my COC for president just now. I guess that makes it all official,” Bongbong said.

Bongbong has yet to reveal his running mate as of this posting but revealed that his party, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), initially planned to adopt President Rodrigo Duterte, who earlier said that he’s seeking the vice presidency.

According to him, no one has filed for vice president under PFP and the reason was that the original plan was for them to adopt President Duterte for their vice-presidential candidate.

Nagbago lahat ng plano kaya’t ngayon, nagkokonsulta kami, ‘yong partido at siyempre lahat ng ating mga kasamahan kung anong dapat gawin,” Bongbong told reporters.

The former senator said that the PFP will field at least 7 to 9 senatorial candidates and will release its initial slate “within days”. He added that he “cannot say for sure” for now if PFP can come up with a full 12-member slate.

Bongbong filed his candidacy under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), a 3-year-old political party that was founded by allies of President Duterte. The former senator was now PFP’s chairman after a switch from the Villars’ Nacionalista Party.

He declared his presidential bid last October 5 on a key message of unity amidst the pandemic.

I know that it’s this manner of unifying leadership that can lead us through this crisis, get our people safely back to work for all of us to begin to live our lives once again,” Bongbong said.
