Xiaomi has patented its earthquake monitoring technology for “mobile devices”.
Xiaomi had recently patented its earthquake monitoring technology for “mobile devices” as the said technology would be used in detecting earthquakes.
The Chinese tech giant recently published a new patent for an interesting form of technology and the said patent was titled “Method and Equipment for Realizing Seismic Monitoring of Mobile Devices”.
Xiaomi’s application had a patent number CN113406696A and was described as a method or system that’s capable of monitoring or reading seismic activity from mobile equipment. In other words, the said technology would be used in detecting earthquakes.
Furthermore, the “mobile device” in question would transfer key data obtained in order to send it to an earthquake processing center.

Gizmochina reported that it’s clear that the equipment will belong to the technical field of seismic monitoring and also be related to disaster prevention as well.
The said patent even described the entire process and its function as it would seek to standardize the virtual seismic sensor and to designate the registered regions with seismic activity on a map.
Also, the system would also permit the underlying processor in order to identify and predict possible earthquake events based on multiple readings, adding that those readings were through the virtual seismic sensor that also transmitted the data to seismic processing centers.
Gizmochina also reported that this could mean that the Chinese tech giant would be able to create an early warning system from mobile devices in terms of applications.
Notably, the said technology was somewhat similar to the early warning system that Xiaomi had integrated with its MIUI mobile operating system that functioned based on AI algorithms.
