Senator Bato Dela Rosa Tells Pharmally Exec To Concentrate On Senate Hearing

Senator Bato Dela Rosa told a Pharmally official to concentrate on the Senate hearing.

On Monday, Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa advised an official of Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation to concentrate on the Senate hearing.

Senator Bato to Linconn Ong

Senator Dela Rosa, who was a former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, told Ong in the Senate hearing that he shouldn’t be distracted with death threats and advised him to turn off his cellphone and concentrate on the Senate hearing.

The senator also told Ong that he should answer all the questions so that the Senate hearing has a good flow.

Senator Dela Rosa’s response came after Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation director and supply chain head Linconn Ong told senators in the Senate hearing that he had been receiving death threats after testifying in the Senate probe into the government’s procurement of “overpriced” pandemic supplies.

According to Ong, he received text messages saying that he had to admit his alleged ties with the chief executive — presumably Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte — or else he and his family would be killed.

Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chairman Senator Richard Gordon agreed with Senator Dela Rosa but assured Ong of protection from the Senate.

You are already protected right now may nakabantay sa’yo ngayon na OSAA (Office of the Sergeant-At-Arms), ‘di namin aalisin ‘yan,” Senator Gordon said to Ong.
