Painter Bree Johnson was found lifeless inside resort room she shared with the son of billionaire Roberto Ongpin
BREE JOHNSON – The popular painter was found dead inside a resort room in La Union.
The artist was last seen with Julian Roberto Ongpin, a 29-year-old angel investor, art patron, and the son of billionaire Roberto Ongpin.
An angel investor (also known as a private investor, seed investor, or angel funder) is a high-net-worth individual who provides financial backing for small startups or entrepreneurs, typically in exchange for ownership equity in the company.
According to a police report, Ongpin told staff at the hip Flotsam and Jetsam resort in San Juan town that he found the 30-year-old Bree Johnson lifeless in their bathroom.
The son of the business tycoon was later taken into police custody but due to drug possession.
San Juan police chief, Maj. Gerardo Macaraeg said that cocaine was found in the room shared by Bree Johnson and Ongpin- who will be charged with illegal possession of drugs.
Based on the article published by PEP.ph, the two checked in the early evening of Friday, September 17. Apparently, they stepped out before midnight and returned to their room at around 3 a.m.
Ongpin rushed out of their room thirty minutes later calling for help. He claimed that he found the Filipina artist lifeless in their bathroom.
Ongpin, who looked anxious at the time, told the police that the painter took her own life. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, netizens turn to social media, crying for justice following the sudden demise of Bree Johnson.
