On Monday, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto hinted at his possible reelection bid as local chief executive in 2022.
Sotto said in an interview over ABS-CBN News Channel that he would “definitely” want to continue implementing reforms in Pasig City, noting that only nine months of his term were spent without the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Hindi pa naman ako nag-announce pero ‘yun naman po siguro ‘yun,” Sotto said when asked if he’ll seek reelection for 2022.
According to Sotto, they have made a lot of gains and yet they faced limitations because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Sotto also said that the local government unit under his leadership had introduced a lot of reforms — including efforts for the ease of doing business and efforts to eliminate corruption.
When asked about the possible presidential bid, Sotto said that he didn’t entertain such thoughts.
“Kalokohan lang yun. Una 32 (years old) lang ako. I don’t entertain those thoughts, whether now or the future. Dapat magfocus ako sa trabaho ngayon,” Sotto said.
Meantime, Sotto confirmed that he had met with the partylist of his uncle, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
