Press secretary during Cory Aquino’s admin dies
Tomas “Buddy” Gomez III, who once served as press secretary under the administration of the late former president Corazon “Cory” Aquino, passed away on Thursday, July 22.
His death was announced by his family on Saturday. He died at the age of 86.
He died in the middle of his pilgrimage to Galicia, Spain.
Gomez first became known in the media field in 1957 on the DZQL-Radio Reloj program, where he spent 25 years.
In 1986, he was appointed Consul General in Hawaii and later became press secretary under the administration of Cory Aquino.
During the time of former president Fidel V. Ramos, he became chairman and president of government station IBC-13.
Gomez also became a columnist for ABS-CBN News online.
