70th Miss Universe will be held in Israel in December 2021
On Tuesday, the Miss Universe Organization officially announced that the 70th edition of the pageant will be held in Israel in December 2021.
The coronation night will be broadcast live globally in December from Eilat, a port city in the south tip of Israel. However, the exact date for the said pageant has yet to be made public.
The organization announced the venue via video released across its social media channels, showing past and recent Miss Universe winners. Among those shown in the compilation video were the Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.

Miss Universe previously held its 69th edition at Florida in the United States last May after the said pageant was postponed in 2020 because of coronavirus pandemic. This will be the third time that two Miss Universe pageants will be held in the same year as Miss Universe held two competitions in 2015 and in 2017.
Meanwhile, the Philippines had produced four Miss Universe winners in total — including Gloria Diaz in 1969. Also, the country had been on an 11-year streak of its representatives placing in the semifinals of the pageant, starting with Venus Raj last 2010.
Rabiya Mateo, the country’s 2020 delegate, finished in the top 21. Her successor, who will be crowned on September 25, will compete in the international pageant in Israel.
