Former President Noynoy Aquino cause of death revealed by the Aquino family.
On Thursday afternoon, the Aquino family released a statement as the family revealed the cause of former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s death.
In a statement, Aquino’s sister Pinky Aquino-Abellada confirmed that her brother “died peacefully in his sleep” as his death certificate pronounced his death at 6:30 in the morning.
According to Pinky, the cause of her brother’s death was “renal disease secondary to diabetes“.
“Mission accomplish ka, Noy! Be happy now with Dad and Mom,” Pinky said, referring to their late parents, Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr and former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino.
“We love you and we are so blessed to have had the privilege to have had you as our brother. We will miss you, Noy!” Pinky added.

Former President Aquino died on Thursday at the age of 61. Former Presidents Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Joseph “Erap” Estrada mourned the passing of former President Aquino’s death.
Meanwhile, Malacañang has yet to say if it will offer to hold a state funeral for former president Aquino.

Rappler reported that Aquino had been suffering from various illnesses since 2019, had been undergoing dialysis for at least five months, and had recently undergone a heart operation.
Aquino served from 2010 to 2016, riding on a wave of goodwill after the death of his mother, former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino, and on the promise of leading the nation to prosperity through “Daang Matuwid”.
