Amanpour has ovarian cancer
Christiane Amanpour – The award-winning journalist and CNN host has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Ovarian cancer is cancer that forms in or on an ovary.
It results in abnormal cells that have the ability to invade or spread to other parts of the body.
When this process begins, there may be no or only vague symptoms.
Symptoms become more noticeable as cancer progresses.
These symptoms may include bloating, pelvic pain, abdominal swelling, constipation, and loss of appetite, among others.
Meanwhile, the 63-year-old has been away from the popular Cable News Network for four weeks.
During her return on June 14, she admitted that she has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
“Get all the regular screenings and scans that you can,” she said.
“Always listen to your bodies and of course … ensure that your legitimate medical concerns are not dismissed or diminished,” she added.
