Lacson for President?
Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III is rooting fellow senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson to run as president in the 2022 national elections.
According to Sotto, he will support Lacson in case he declares that he will run for president.
“If I do consider it, the number one on my list is Senator Lacson,” he said.
“I know his capabilities, I know what he can do for the country. If he runs for President, I will support him,” the senator added.
Sotto also admitted that he has considered running as vice president in the 2022 polls.
He said that if Lacson does not aspire to a higher position, he and Senator Manny Pacquiao, who is also rumored to be running for the presidency, are already in talks with the election plan.
Sotto added that after President Rodrigo Duterte’s State of the Nation Address (SONA), he will reveal his next political step, or maybe retire.
