Incumbent senator and boxing champ Manny Pacquiao confirmed his face-off against American boxer Errol Spence Jr. this coming August 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Recently, Pacquiao took to the image-sharing site, Instagram wherein he shared a poster of his upcoming bout.
It was in 2019 when he last fought on the boxing ring against American boxer Keith Thurman bringing home the WBA super welterweight title.
Manny Pacquiao is also known as PacMan.
He made history as the only eight-division world champion with twelve major world titles.
He was the first boxer to win the lineal championship in five different weight classes.
He’s also the first boxer to win major world titles in four of the eight “glamour divisions”: flyweight, featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight.
On the other hand, Errol Spence Jr. is currently a unified welterweight world champion, having held the IBF title since 2017 and the WBC title since 2019.
He represented the U.S. at the 2012 Olympics, where he reached the quarter-finals.
He is ranked as the world’s third-best active boxer, pound for pound, by BoxRec as of January 2021.
