Kapamilya actress Kira Balinger had made no secret of her dream as she recently shared that joining the beauty pageant was “definitely in my plans”.
In a report on ABS-CBN News, Kira was tuned in to the Miss Universe competition last Monday, cheering on Miss Philippines Rabiya Mateo.
Kira rooted for Rabiya, who settled for a top 21 finish, in her tweets and also weighed in on the deserving winner. Her pick, after Rabiya’s early exit, was either the representative of Brazil or Peru.
Mexico’s Andrea Meza was crowned as Miss Universe 2020.
While the actress currently counted among the fervent millions backing the country’s queens in international beauty pageants, she may one day have the Philippines rallying behind her as the country’s representative as well.

A certain fan saw that possibility as a near-certainty as they shared with Kira on Monday a now-deleted edited photo depicting her with the Philippines sash.
Kira had made no secret of her dream to enter the beauty pageant, saying that “it’s definitely in my plans”.
Currently, Kira intended to focus on acting and to gather experience — specifically in civic work — that would equip her better as a beauty queen. The next three years, according to Kira, would be an opportune time to expose and enrich herself to determine her own advocacy.
“I’m still quite young to be focusing on a beauty pageant, and I have a lot of things in life that I still need to learn before I enter one. I think that’s when I feel I will be ready to join. Siyempre, nakaka-pressure din ang beauty pageants. It’s a big platform where makikita lahat ng advocacies, how you can help, so I really need to be prepared for that type of responsibility,” Kira said.
