The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC) said that fully vaccinated people can travel if they took precautions.

Fully vaccinated people can travel

In a report on GMA News Online, the US CDC said that fully vaccinated people can start traveling again if they took precautions such as observing social distancing and wearing a mask.

The US CDC said in a statement that vaccinated people won’t have to quarantine or to take a COVID-19 test after traveling within the United States.

However, the US CDC said that international travelers headed to the United States should have a “negative COVID-19 test” before they got on the plane, be tested for COVID-19 after arrival, and must quarantine if local authorities in the United States required it.

The new guidelines said that vaccinated travelers can go abroad without getting a COVID-19 test before travel unless it was required by the international destination.

GMA News Online also reported that the new guidelines were released as travel was picking up again in the United States, especially because of spring break and Easter trips, after all but shutting down completely in the early months of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the US CDC, a person was considered “fully vaccinated” two weeks after receiving the last recommended COVID-19 vaccine dose. That means the second dose for COVID-19 vaccines that required two vaccine doses.

At a briefing, US CDC director Rochelle Walensky said that more than one in five adults in the United States was now fully inoculated.
