In a report on 9to5Mac, Samsung was increasing its efforts in order to win over iPhone users as Samsung had officially launched a new web app called “iTest”.

The said app allowed iPhone users to “get a little taste of Samsung” through its web app that simulated the Android experience.

When iPhone users visited Samsung’s iTest website (visit this link), they’ll be prompted to add the web app to their iPhone’s home screen. Once done, they can launch it just like any other app and can get some hands-on time with the Android interface.

You’re about to get a little taste of Samsung, without changing phones. We can’t replicate every function, but you should quickly see that there’s nothing daunting about switching to the other side,” Samsung explained.

With Samsung’s iTest web app, iPhone users can do quite a bit – including exploring the Samsung Camera app, changing themes, browsing the Galaxy Store, and more.

The banner image in Samsung Galaxy Store naturally promoted Fortnite, which Apple removed from the Apple App Store.

When they’re in the Samsung iTest app on their iPhone, they’ll even receive a variety of simulated text notifications and phone calls highlighting different things to try out and different ways of communicating with their friends.

Moreover, Samsung was using it as an opportunity to promote its other Galaxy products — such as Galaxy Watch3, Galaxy Buds Pro, and Galaxy Buds Live.

However, while the overall simulated experience was impressive, there were areas where it fell apart as many of the apps only allowed iPhone users to take a look at the splash screens and there were also technical limitations to web app as well.

Samsung’s iTest web app was first spotted by MacRumors and was being advertised only in New Zealand at the moment, but the said website was already accessible worldwide.

Samsung’s iTest web app came after Apple previously said that the iPhone 12 series had spurred an increase in smartphone users switching from Android to iPhone.
