A blind man from Montalban, Rizal even went to Quezon City to donate to Maginhawa Community Pantry.
Bonifacio Saliganan donated several bars of laundry soap to the said pantry, which now serves as a drop-off point for donations to be taken to other community pantries in Diliman, QC.
“Iyong aking naipon po na bar panglaba ay naisipan ko po na i-donate na lang po dito kay ma’am para po mapakinabangan po ng iba dahil hindi ko naman po nagagamit,” he said.
Meanwhile, Maginhawa Community Pantry will accept donations from 10 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Saturday.
The concept of a “community pantry” became popular on social media and spread throughout the country.
As of posting, there are thousands of community pantries established inside and outside the country.
Even celebrities have participated in this cause which seeks to assist those in need especially the people affected by the current pandemic.
Among those who have launched their own community pantries are Angel Locsin, Gabbi Garcia and to name a few.
