Xiaomi won the court ruling against the US government over military blacklist row.
Xiaomi Corporation on Sunday announced that the company won the court ruling against the United States government over military blacklist row.
This, after the US government targeted the company by adding it to the Military Blacklist and designated the company as a “Chinese Communist Military Company”.
Last January 2021, the US Department of Defense under the Trump administration added nine Chinese companies — including Xiaomi Corporation — to its list of “Communist Chinese military companies.”
Donald Trump’s Executive Order, which took effect on January 11, prevented US investors from investing in the listed Chinese companies by November 11.
Xiaomi had denied the allegations and filed a legal complaint as the designation would cause “cause immediate and irreparable harm” and would affect its global reputation.

In a statement released on Sunday, Xiaomi stated that last March 12, the US District Court of Columbia enjoined the US Department of Defense from implementing or enforcing the designation of Xiaomi as a CCMC (Communist Chinese Military Company).
Also in a statement, Xiaomi stated that the company believed that the decisions of designating it as a CCMC were “arbitrary and capricious”.
“Xiaomi reiterates that it is a widely held, publicly traded, independently managed corporation that offers consumer electronics products solely for civilian and commercial use,” Xiaomi also said in a statement.
